Each week, on Sundays, I will recap my week as an author! I will post drafting updates, announcements, and fun things that made me love being an author here! (The struggles too) This is the best way to follow my journey! Please stay🤍
This week as an author!
This week started just as the last few have gone. For those who don't know, my partner and I have been traveling the country in our RV. We have seen so many pretty things, but have also encountered incredible challenges. The start of our demise was at Yosemite National Park. We climbed the highest drivable road in California, up 9,945 feet, and slept at the top. We woke up with horrible altitude sickness and had to throw ourselves down the mountain quickly to save ourselves. It led us to Death Valley, where we thought we'd drive through to meet Hailey's mom in Arizona. It didn't go that way, we burned through our brakes completely and got stranded in the 122-degree weather for 24 hours. Once we were finally towed, we made it to the nearby town of Pahrump where we spent two weeks facing challenge after challenge. My writing was flowing. The traumatic events in the mountains and valleys were actually quite beneficial in making my story believable. Since Pahrump, we've been to the Grand Canyon, Lowell Observatory to see the stars, and now Colorado to soak ourselves in the mountain peaks and water that we originally were looking forward to. Being an author is a blessing, and my story benefits from these downs, but it isn't always easy in the moment. Further In Sidus is looking to be filled with what my life has consisted of these past few weeks: struggles, problem-solving, and forgiving love. Tonight, I surpassed 25,000 words in book two and I'm still moving forward. See you next Sunday!
